Top Hat's Home Delta Green Campaign: Session Fifteen

With all of us having had at least one dose of the vaccine (and two of them being in the same bubble) and Blue's roommates being out of the apartment, we decided to meet up in person to rekindle some of the excitement of the campaign. It was a bit awkward sitting in the four furthest corners of the largest room with the sound of wind and traffic coming through an open window, but it was nice. Most importantly, I brought props! They now had an envelope to tear open "IN EVENT OF POSITIVE TEST" and a spray bottle to spray. We jokingly declared that you had to be holding the bottle if your character had it and any sprays had to be both in and out of character. I forgot that the bottle still had a bit of water in it and we almost sprayed the cat.

SESSION FIFTEEN

Once again, my players surprised me with their recall of the previous session and we picked up where we left off after just a few minutes of recollection and shitposting. The latter would be a great theme throughout the night and the primary reason why we didn't get much done.

They headed off to a quarry to do some science to the sample of protomatter they recovered from the dumpster. Matiopia's character, Gina, noticed a sedan following them as they drove further into the forest. Ren recognized it as Fox Tox's car but they opted to continue. Maybe they could lure her into some sort of trap or force her into playing her hand. Gina unpacked her tricked out rifle while Ren and Sadie headed down into the quarry. It was an obvious kill-box, but with her Military Science, Gina picked out a spot where her fellow Agents could at least retreat to safety if fired upon.

They cautiously tested the spray on a leaf, a stick, and a rock, they opened the bag. Ren scooped out a portion of the goop with a stick and held it at arm's length while Sadie prepared to spray it. One puff of noxious mist later, and the carbonized sludge slowly turned a bright fuchsia. They also tested it on a sample of Ren's blood, which he was able to draw without taking any HP damage due to his First Aid. While this was happening, Gina had noticed someone moving around in the trees. By the time the "science team" had finished their little experiment, Gina had Fox Tox at gunpoint. Fox Tox introduced herself as special agent Barbara Roberts of the FBI, cautiously producing her ID. A few euphemisms later and an astounding recall of a sign-countersign we hadn't said aloud in months and the two stopped pointing guns at each other.

When Ren and Sadie returned from the quarry, Fox Tox explained she was a "specialist" sent by the Program to help them out, though not in so many words. Sadie asked her to elaborate and an awkward silence followed. They decided to deal with this later and go surveil the cult compound. They noted the armament of the 'cultists,' their varying devotions, the reverend's two bodyguards, the existence of Dog the deacon, the layout of structures, and the existence of one lone 'outcast' from the group. After watching the reverend enter a tent to have sex with one of the female disciples while his bodyguards stood outside, the Agents decided they were done for the night.

They drove off to a campsite with some picnic benches elsewhere in the forest and slept in their cars. For space concerns (and predictable ulterior motives), Sadie opted to sleep in Barbara's sedan. She tried to sleep with her as well, but a failed CHAx5 roll meant Fox Tox response was something along the lines of "Take me out to dinner first." They planned to drive out further into a region of cell service to check when the church's next appearance might be.
